Practitioner Eligibility Requirements

Practitioner Membership Eligibility Requirements

Feng Shui Training Requirements

At least 72 hours of training with a Feng Shui Master, and a minimum of 54 hours of practical Feng Shui experience from consultations and/or teaching is required for admission to the Feng Shui Institute of the Midwest as a Practitioner member.

Continuing Education Requirements

To be eligible for Practitioner membership, fulfillment of 6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) is required annually. These CEUs demonstrate your commitment to expanding your Feng Shui-related knowledge and growth as a Practitioner.

CEUs can be acquired from a Feng Shui-related course, lecture or workshop taught by someone other than yourself, or attendance at FSIM quarterly meetings. Each hour of class attended translates into one CEU. FSIM meetings are worth 1.5 CEUs each. By attending all four FSIM meetings, you will meet your requirements, and not have incurred any added expense, since your membership enables you to attend at no extra cost (except for the January Annual Meeting).

Classes that are Feng Shui-related and which you feel are important in your work as a Practitioner, e.g., a class on Tai Qi, Dowsing, Breath-work, etc., are eligible for a maximum of 2 CEUs per topic, per year.  Ongoing personal development classes and mentorships will be eligible for partial credit, subject to a maximum of 2 CEU’s per year.

NEW:  Renewal for 2012

Brand new for 2012, all membership renewals will move to once per year, each January. Current members will be sent further communication about the changes via email. Dues will be pro-rated based on your past renewal date.

CEUs for renewing Practitioners won’t be due until January 2013. The deadline for submission will be 1/31/13.

If your Practitioner membership expires without the completion of the 6 CEUs, you may renew as a Friend for $108. This category does not qualify you as a recognized Practitioner, but does enable you to participate in the quarterly meetings. See Membership Benefits for further information.
